TNBFA Hosts State-Level Blind Football Camp in Madurai
In a remarkable step toward strengthening grassroots development, the Tamil Nadu Blind Football Association (TNBFA) successfully conducted a State-Level Blind Football Training Camp in Madurai from May 5th to 9th, 2025. The camp brought together over 40 visually impaired athletes from across Tamil Nadu, including both B1 (totally blind) and PS (partially sighted) categories.
Led by National Coach Mr. Francis Sebastian and TNBFA Founder Mr. Bharathiraja G.R., the five-day camp focused on skill development, game tactics, physical conditioning, and confidence building. Special sessions were also conducted on nutrition, mental health, and career guidance in para-sports.
“This camp is not just about football. It’s about giving these athletes a platform to dream, grow, and lead,” said Mr. Bharathiraja.
The event also saw the distribution of blind football kits, sponsored by local donors, and was supported by volunteers from various NGOs. The highlight of the camp was a friendly match between B1 and PS teams, drawing cheers from the local community.
With more such camps planned across Tamil Nadu, TNBFA continues to empower visually impaired youth through sport and spirit.
