B1 football men & women

B1 Blind Football

B1 blind football is a powerful expression of ability, resilience, and passion, designed specifically for athletes who are fully blind (B1 classification). At Tamil Nadu Blind Football Association (TNBFA), we proudly train and support both men’s and women’s B1 teams, offering them the opportunity to compete, grow, and lead through the beautiful game. Played with an audible ball and guided by vocal instructions, B1 football allows visually impaired players to perform at high intensity, showcasing extraordinary skill and teamwork.

Our men’s and women’s teams undergo regular training with certified coaches and have participated in national-level tournaments, including the historic 2021 National Blind Football Championship in Chennai. TNBFA is one of the few organizations in India to promote women’s blind football, ensuring equal opportunities and recognition for female athletes.

Through B1 football, our players gain more than just sporting skills—they build confidence, mobility, and a strong sense of community. We believe that no limitation should ever stop someone from chasing a dream, and through every match, we’re proving that sight is not required to see a future filled with hope and achievement. With every kick, shout, and goal, our athletes are breaking barriers—and inspiring the world.

Blind Football is for players that have severe visual impairments. They are known as ‘B1’ athletes.

Partially Sighted Futsal is for players with less severe – although still acute – visual impairments who are classified as B2 and B3.
